In vitro study | Ceftiofur down-regulated the expression of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1 β(IL-1β) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), but did not affect the production of interleukin-10 (IL-10). In RAW 264.7 cells, Ceftiofur significantly inhibited the phosphorylated protein expression of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK),p38 and NH(2) Terminal Kinase (JNK) of c-jun. In RAW 264.7 cells, Ceftiofur also inhibited the ectopy of p65-nf-κB to the nucleus of RAW264.7 cells. |
In vivo study | In newborn calves, Ceftiofur was associated with a significant decrease in rectal temperature and Diarrhea. In newborn calves, Ceftiofur resulted in a significant decrease in the shedding of salmonella faeces. In cows with endometritis, ceftiofurhydrotride reduced positive uterine cultures and the 51-day reduction was Prevalence Rate of the Arcanobacterium pyogenes in milk. In cows with endometritis, ceftiofurhydrotride reduced uterine infections and A. pyogenes by Prevalence Rate and did not affect endometritis and fertility by Prevalence Rate in cows that had been given PGF(2alpha). In pigs, ceftiofurhydrooride resulted in a C(max) of 11.8 mg/mL and an AUC of 216 mg xh/ mL after 1-4 hours of injection (intramuscular injection). In cows, ceftiofurhydrooride (2.2 mg CE/kg,SC or IM, once daily for 5 days) is effective in treating acute postpartum metritis (APM). |
